In the Jungle, the Mighty Jungle....
...the Lion Sleeps Tonight.......but in the comfort of the garden shed!
And so begins the dismantling of my garden in anticipation of winter - It is time to put everything to bed.. starting with the outdoor furniture and statuary ...so much to lift and carry and fit into the storage shed and none of it much lighter than that darned pot of rosemary!
So..in the best interests of my back, it will be a little bit at a time..Today the lion..tomorrow the two herons. Then maybe the chairs.. but not the glass tabletop as it requires two handlers so it has to wait until some poor unsuspecting soul happens to drop by and then, finally the pots- relieved of plants and soil to lighten the load before their jaunt to the shed....
All that could take several days or even weeks at the rate I do these things.... Meanwhile, the garden itself will be expecting some much needed attention; it is still a jungle out there...Then the leaves will fall and the rush will be on to have them all raked up in time for the last yard-waste pick-up of the season.
And then the snow will fly....
OMG - the race is on...Methinks my days of leisurely reading by the fire are numbered - at least for a while!
