After a hearty breakfast, we spent a couple of hours dandering aboot Sheffield city centre; some magnificent edifices, amidst the building works and fountains. Park Hill didn't disappoint; but Tom found Sheffield's sports clothing emporia to be substandard.
We checked out, and as we left town dropped in to HIllsborough where Alex scored another top for his growing collection. Then the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for some culture. Although Tom did update his profile pic several times with selfies of him and various nudes we found on our travels.
Showery but a grand afternoon nonetheless. Then to Huddersfield. We parked up, did battle with Ringo (we lost) and managed some local scran and then it was off to the John Smith's stadium for Huddersfield v Birmingham City. Birmingham City who had previously failed to score in their previous 6 games. Yes, it was borderline* tedious.
A nice ground; not a bad seat in the house; I wish we'd booked into the singing section cos at least that would have provided some entertainment.
I'm not sure which was more painful - the 90 minutes of the match or the 4.5 hours drive home in the dark. But we made it home before 3....
