Another rainy day in proverbial Georgia.

There's a short story submission deadline on 01 Nov that requires all submissions to start with a given 'first line'.  Started it last night and I cannot believe, upon reading it today, the rubbish I wrote.  I'll need a total of 5000 words.  Well, 5000 words of rubbish will not be difficult, and I'm about a third on the way, so I'll have to edit as I took so many paths by the wayside that the plot is lost.   Poetry is okay, too, so it's an option to change it all into verse.  Might make more sense.  That is, if I do not lose my motivation.
