Animal Art

We’re now nicely settled with friends in Twizel and it’s hot like 25° and currently enjoying drinks and scrumptious nibbles. A bbq will follow later.
We drove up this morning and settled into holiday mode very quickly.
This afternoon we went for a wee tiki (kiwi slang for drive). Gosh there are now some huge mansions up here now. Twizel is an old hydro town back in 1970’s now a town that has become a centre for those that enjoy the mountains for snow skiing , the lakes for boating and water skiing and other recreation activities. A beautiful place , we lived nearby for three years early 70’s when Doug was a roading engineer when building the new road to Mt Cook.
We came across this Art Gallery and was given a personalised tour of his property and all the life size steel animals he makes. Incredible workmanship, huge price tags!
My blip is the only photo I took and from my phone of the horse, shepherd and merino sheep.

COVID is now in the South Island, a case in Blenheim. 104 cases today.
