Typewriter Maintenance

As promised to the Flumlet on Tuesday, when he was frustrated that his typing was rather faint, a new ribbon for my old Olympia Splendid 33 portable typewriter was ordered and arrived yesterday.
Here is Mr Flum putting it in; however, on testing, it appears little darker than the original. I seem to remember that it was possible to re-ink ribbons, so will investigate that - and practice on the old one.
