what's left
Trip down to Leith to see what's remaining of the grain warehouse. I was hoping for a colourful sunset like we had the last couple of days to recreate the photo from 5 years ago. No such luck. There seems to be no desire to preserve industrial history and great monuments to industry are just destroyed when they are no longer required, just like Cockenzie Power Station. We preserve the great houses even though that is sometimes questionable. Industrial buildings are the monuments of the working class, destroying them is wiping out their history.
While I was down there I checked out the tram works as usual and the demolition of the industrial units on Stead's Place - thanks to arclight for alerting me.
Pictures on flickr as always.
