Hartwell House

Hartwell House is a stately home, just outside Aylesbury, with a long and interesting history - it was the home of exiled French king Louis XVIII in the early 19th century. The grounds were landscaped by Capability Brown. It’s now a country house hotel and we treated ourselves to lunch there today. I’ve included as an extra a view of the exterior. I think a return visit is very much on the cards, if only to explore the grounds more fully.
