Inviting

R and H were driving from Glasgow to come for a visit so I headed over to Oban to meet them and do a bit of shopping.  R had booked on the 6.25 ferry but was hoping to get on the 4.  I caught up with them in the stand by queue.  There were 5 cars in front of hers.  Their car was pretty full so I headed up to get on via the foot passenger waiting area and watched through the window as the cars were loaded onto the ferry.  The passenger gate was about to close and the first of the stand by queue got beckoned on, then the second.  The woman on the gate radioed down for me - no, the blue car wasn't going to get on, damn.  You win some you lose some.  It did mean R's first drive from Craignure to Tobermory in the dark, which she was a bit nervous about, was one with very little traffic to cope with.  It is brilliant to have them here again.
