Grassington

We ventured into Yorkshire today to meet up with (former blip) friends.

When I first joined Blipfoto back in 2012, I happened across a guy by the name of RichyF.
I’m not sure what it was about his profile (or mine for that matter) but we became friends. He left Blip a few years ago now, but we’ve always kept in touch and always try to meet up when we are nearby.

He and his lovely family are from Bristol, so we caught up with them a few years ago when we did a road trip down that way.

Our last meet up was a couple of years ago, so when Hannah (his wife) messaged me to say they were visiting Yorkshire for the half term holidays, we agreed to meet up for coffee and cake.

They aren’t staying too far from Grassington and we remembered it to be a cute little village, so it was the perfect place and a nice drive out for us. Even if we did struggle to find somewhere that could accommodate the 6 of us for a brew!

We exchanged hugs and gifts; they’d brought us a wedding card and a bottle of fizz. We got them a little family of owl ornaments for their new home; Hannah collects anything owl related.

It was lovely to see them and see how much their two girls have grown. We are Facebook friends so have watched them turn from little girls into young ladies.

It’s so lovely that just from posting a photo every day, we get the opportunity to become friends with people who we often never get the chance to meet in real life.
