Vantage point.
A stormy night and blustery wet morning. Rain cleared and frustration eased. We went for a walk on the coastal path and shore to Castlehill Point; once the site of an iron age fort. You can see why they built it here - great views over the Solway and along the coast. The rocky beach is Barcloy Heigh; Barcloy Hill is the high ground. When we last did this walk 30 years ago we walked back on the mudflats but today the tide time table wasn’t favourable. I remember previously photocopying tide times from a newspaper in the office beforehand. No internet or mobile phones then; to think today we chatted to our younger son from almost this location and sent him photos. Technological progress eh.
Late in the afternoon we nipped over to Kippford and drove further round to Balcary Bay. We’d a walk along the shore but were conscious it was getting dark so didn’t linger.
Older son and wife got off to a good start with their new puppy, Tallie. We’ve seen plenty photos. Younger son visited this afternoon; she’s a playful wee dog.
