Burns country

Headed west to the Robert Burns museum in Ayr. With a wee detour to drive past old stomping grounds and landscapes with lots of childhood memories and family history.

Enjoyed the museum but it lacked the spoken word and songs as we couldn’t listen to the handsets because of Covid restrictions. Also thought it could have done with a bit more of an overview of Burns life to set the scene at the start.

Back in Moffat to a quiet evening and a wee dram of Dalwhinnie Winter’s Gold. Delicious. Although I’ve just discovered it is supposed to be served straight from the freezer which means the flavours are then released as it warms up. I guess that means we’ll have to try it again tomorrow…
