Windy!

Not as windy as parts of California, but plenty of wind here, too. We put out this year's Jack-O-Lantern last night,  but I couldn't find the votives I thought we had, so I cut a taper into thirds. Neighbor Alex texted "nice Jack," tapers are much brighter than votives. Then we ran into him this morning, and told how the taper burned all up. Later, there was a paper bag on the porch with 8 votives - 8 days to Halloween! Clever Tricia, his wife, put a small loaf of pumpkin bread in the bag, too. I blame her for some of this padding I've acquired. Luckily they have a 5 yr old boy, or the entire block would be chubby. She makes the best honey ice cream, and cakes, always cakes.
The wind did blow out the flame tonight - right away, so we moved it to a bench against the side of the house.
Windy all night!
The Extra is a view of the big trees at the U of P from this morning's walk. But it got usurped by the pumpkin.
