Saint Céré
I cleaned the barbecue ready for winter storage. There is something very satisfying about pouring water on a very hot cast iron plate and watching it sizzle We cleared more of the ancient wine and spirits from the basement. A 30 year old mix of brandy and cream smelled particularly vile as I poured it down the drain. Lunch and off to Saint Céré to leave in some documents to the wonderful Mireille in the insurance office and then on to Alvea to order heating oil. Bought a big roll of anti-weed membrane in Jardi-Leclerc and laid it on the vegetable patch so that it is not a forest of weeds come next spring. N spent 20 minutes trying to get through to our GP surgery but eventually did and was able to make much needed appointments. We will be 'flu jabbed and booster vaccinated as soon as we get back to Belfast.
