Autumnal Golf Course

This morning I had a pleasant job- visiting our local  Waitrose branch  to pick up a cheque from their  Give a Little Local Love initiative. They   had decided to award a useful sum to our local Countryside Group,  which manages our  wildlife area. It's great news as it means we can purchase has some more tools and some equipment to monitor the animals  using the area.
While in town I bumped into a former work colleague who was about  to meet her father, also a former (now retired) colleague, for  coffee, and invited  me to join them. (Actually, almost exactly forty years ago,  he gave me the  job, which led to me moving to, and settling in, Winchester! I have a lot to thank him for.) We had a very nice catch up.

I noticed while cycling through the cathedral close that  the wooden chalets are already being  erected in readiness for this year's  Christmas market.

This afternoon my husband and I  went for a walk around  one of our local golf courses. It  turned out much sunnier  than  had been forecast.
