IC

One very important invention, leading to all those nice things like smart phones, tablets, etc. etc., is the IC or integrated circuit. A chip usually is a set of IC's.
IC's were invented around 1957. 64 years later we can't do without them anymore.
My blip shows a graphic card. It's a bit older but probably still functioning. The big black chip is from Conexant. It is a Flicker-Free Video Encoder with Ultrascale™ Technology. By the way, Conexant is now part of Synaptics.
