Emergency Church Blip

After breakfast this morning Mrs madwill asked “Do you fancy lunch out today in Northallerton?”. Now, to the uninitiated, this may seem an innocuous question - but there is only one answer and that is not “No”.

As we got ready to go she said “We could go and look at furniture in Barkers” - again only one possible response to that statement and it is along the lines of “Oh, goody”.

So off we went - and fortified by a coffee and half a scone we went to look at sofas and chairs - or rather look at the same furniture we saw the other day in York, but in different surroundings. Mrs madwill appears to have chosen…

We popped into the town and went to The Golden Lion for lunch - and to our surprise our request for a table was greeted with - “Yes, please follow me” rather the the stock “Have you booked?” that we have had recently. A very nice roast dinner was had - pork for me and beef for Mrs madwill.

We got home and I was blipless of course, so I nipped out for a wander around the village and the late afternoon sun was lighting up the west end of the church…
