Helvellyn Views

This blip was taken looking West across Red Tarn at the Lake District's third highest mountain, Helvellyn, which dominates this high glacial bowl....
The horizon is not wonky... That's the next ferocious rain squall heading for us driven by gale force winds. We stood a while and watched the wind carve its everywhich way across the tarn, North, followed by South, East mixed with West.

It was, it has to be said, about as vile as you would ever choose to be out in. In its own diabolical way it was kinda fun, but getting to the boathouse cafe we looked like we'd come out of the lake rather than the mountains...
