The Dougal Haston Stone

This commemorative stone is in Currie village. I discovered it while preparing for my Currie Wa's Exhibition. You can see some of my Currie Wa's pictures here.

The inscription is not quite correct. Dougal was not the first Briton to climb the North Face of the Eiger, but he did do the first ascent of the much harder Harlin Route a direct route up the north face in winter.
