Homeward bound
Too bad its time to go home again.
After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and drove to Arlanda Airport.
I handed over the car at Hertz (no problems at all) and we took the bus to the terminal. From then on the waiting game started.
With a delay of only 15 minutes we flew back to Schiphol, Amsterdam.
Another bus to the parking P3 and around 16.30 we were on our way north in our own car. All went very smooth.
We first drove to Bedum, to pick up Toby. He was so happy to see us all again. But he was different. Timid. Not relaxed. We learned that he had been very homesick all week. Poor dog.
In fact he still was very nervous in the car as well and he even peed in the car while sitting in between Bas and Daan (something he'd been doing a lot inside the house of Tom and Greetje for the past few days.....oh no!!)
But as soon as I parked on my own driveway, his head came up, and in an instant he changed into the Toby we know. All happy and enthusiastic.
Later in the evening he lay close beside me on the couch, his head firmly on my legs and, sighing deeply every now and then.
Poor dog. But we do now have a serious problem when we want to travel again. What to do with Toby? He's still welcome in Bedum of course, but I don't want to burden Tom and Greetje again with a peeing dog......
