Peace Loving Fireworks
Today's image was taken in The Peace Garden at The Friar's (our local Carmelite Priory) at Aylesford, which me and my brother decided to visit for a contemplative walk.
I say walk but it was more of shuffle for my poor brother as he is still in quite a lot of pain with his bad back but he does feel better if he keeps moving.
The Peace Garden itself is a long walled garden which you enter through a medieval gatehouse (see previous blip 6th August 2020). It is designed to instil a sense of calm with small fountains, seating areas and beautiful planting. There are also sections of tiles on the ground with the word "Peace" translated into 300 languages acting as a symbol of striving for peaceful integration in society - locally, nationally and internationally (something we could all do with at the moment).
It was lovely to spend time in such a peaceful and calming environment on a gloriously autumnal day and we both felt a sense of serenity.
Today's shot of these flower heads reminded me of fireworks exploding into the night sky.
