Madeira chaffinch

On the levada walk called 25 Fountains, where I irritated my travel companion by repeating that it was ‘just like Scotland’. I was amazed to see gorse, bracken, brambles, broom and tall heather trees. Beautiful walk but busy. My personal highlight was a close encounter with a Madeira firecrest but the cheeky chaffinches were also lovely.
