Early doors

Thanks to KLM cancelling at the last minute the flight on which The Boss was booked we found ourselves on the road to Florence airport at 4am this morning. It was very quiet- a deer and badger and a v slow truck carrying a high stack of locally made pallets to somewhere.

It’s all slightly ironic. The Boss is travelling to Edinburgh for COP26 and the ‘lovely patterns’ in the photo I took on return to the Casentino are made by vapour trails. Even the low lying fog is more likely wood smoke from domestic heating and olive pruning fires held in place by the temperature inversion common at this time of year - 2C at 500m and 7C at 1000m.
