Anniversary

On the last Friday of October thirty years ago, I retired,  just a little early.
In those days, when a long serving employee retired, an autograph book circulated and a small reception and presentation was held. Looking back through my book I was surprised to be reminded how many people had complimented me on my good timing. As an indicator of what they meant, neither of the two men "seeing me off",  knew me or had even met me and the one descibing my career actually read  some bits from someone else's file.
The important people were the those in the group photo, people who were a pleasure to work with.
