Castle visitors

Sunshine and showers today, a little brighter than it has been. We have not suffered as much from heavy rain as they have in the west of the county, but the rivers are certainly looking a bit full. 

Because of a hold-up on the A66 we took the backroads on our return from Penrith and we stopped to see how high the river was at Brougham Castle. It was not as high as I had thought it might be, but the trees were looking good and worthy of a photo. There were quite a few visitors to the castle, not surprising as it is still holiday.
