Bower art

I had a carpark security job at Howard Park Winery the other day.

The folks were impressed by some of the sculptures in the grounds. I particularly liked this giant bower made of sticks.

For those who don’t know the male Satin Bowerbird constructs an arch out of twigs (a bower) and decorates it with blue things to attract a mate!

It was absolutely freezing! Like 16 degrees C!! The folks wore coats. If I didn’t have to work, I’d have kept my jim-jams on!

Luckily the folks were able to nip inside while I was working. Not sure they would have survived otherwise. They timed it perfectly and reappeared just as I was knocking off for the afternoon.
