Stormy Waters....

A bit of a nasty day weather-wise...very high winds...overcast..not a day for gardening, or walking outdoors, but a good day to do some indoor chores that had piled up, throw some spicy chicken stew ingredients into the crockpot, send a few texts and then play with fabric! 

The fun part of quilting for me is choosing the colours and the fabrics and then adapting a quilt pattern that would work with them..Well, that part of quilting can also be frustrating.....so many fabrics to choose from!...what goes with what?  Fabrics get yanked off the shelves and laid out, tossed aside, brought back into the mix, rearranged, and then tossed again! The hours slip by, piles of fabric start to fill up every space in the sewing room and then they migrate to the guest room and get laid out there too, this time on the bed..By this time, two rooms are in total chaos and coffee is required.   

The phone rings.. Conversations ensue..the cat needs combing, more of the day slips by..and oh - listen to that wind! Wow, is it ever vicious out there!...Rain's a comin' but not yet...hmmmm...Perhaps a trip to the harbour is in order. There just might be waves! Waves crashing, foam flying...that would make a better blip than the neighbour's Hallowe'en balloon ghost I shot ( a photo of, that is) before dawn this morning..

I grabbed a fleece, a raincoat and my iPhone and headed for the harbour.. and YES...there WERE waves..and yes, they were crashing - right up onto the wharf!  OMG what fun...I took so many photos it took me hours to go through them when I got back home. Mind you, they were all pretty much the same ..some had a bird, some had more than one bird, some had no birds..other than that - pretty much the same. So, I finally just picked one..see blip. (two birds)

Meanwhile? I forgot...I still have two rooms in total chaos! The fabrics await...decisions have to be made. Let the fun begin again ... but not now... tomorrow...It's been a long day.
