Art gallery

Popped in to the art gallery in Walsall on my way to the cinema. Been meaning to go for ages as it’s been a while. So glad that I did. There was a small exhibition of works by Yasmin David which I absolutely loved. Her first exhibition I think. She was a niece of Kathleen Garman who was the partner of Jacob Epstein and from something of an artistic dynasty. Her brother was Michael Wishart. She was the love child of Laurie Lee. She died 12 years ago and her daughter has spent 10 years trying to catalogue the work that she left across the farm that she lived in. Fascinating story and beautiful work.
