Day 25 Level 3 Lockdown Step 1
We’d intended to catch up with two friends last weekend, but the weather was against us, given that we had to be outside and socially distanced. However, this morning we decided to take a punt and had a lovely couple of hours sitting out on their terrace, socially distanced, drinking coffee and setting the world to rights. The sun shone, it was warm and it was great to spend some time with them. Wonderful! By mid-afternoon the weather had changed, the clouds gathered and the rain came down.
On the way home we drove to a street we’ve walked up a few times to take today’s blip, which is a community library cum book exchange in a specially-built cabinet standing on the grass verge. I spoke to a couple walking by and they said it is very well used.
There are 160 new community cases today, the highest number of daily community cases recorded in New Zealand across both years of the pandemic. There are 151 new cases in Auckland, 7 in the Waikato, 1 in Northland and 1 in Christchurch. Delta is spreading!
