So. Much. Stuff.

This is just a small taste of the bags of garbage and cardboard boxes headed off to the dump this morning.  The former owners of our new house had a tenuous grasp on the concept of leaving the place "broom clean" so there's a lot of stuff to be disposed of (kitchen cupboards with old jam jars used as storage containers, old plastic bags, dusty paper cups, etc.). Also closets with some really manky old towels, sheets, and so on, and a serious collection of half-used scented candles (all of which smell awful to us!) 

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this morning scrubbing a sordid accumulation of grease from the stove hood and appliances (Ick!), and this afternoon I'll tackle the bathrooms.  Nothing is what I would describe as "clean"!!!!

Nevertheless, we are delighted to have our new home, the views are stupendous (even though right now it's bucketing down with rain, and the fog has rolled in), and we did sleep so, so soundly last night!
