Bubbles

I went to the Whitesands in Dumfries again just to look at the situation with the River Nith.  I thought the water looked a bit sparkly, almost like someone has poured out some glitter but when I went to have a closer look it turned out I was looking at bubbles on the surface of the water.  Bubbles?  I dread to think what chemicals were causing this.
