Old and new

A wet start to the day but the sun came out later.

This morning I spoke to my friend as usual and then finished the Christmas cake and put it in the oven, long slow cooking.  I made some amaretti biscuits as I needed some for a recipe and they had none in the shop! Had a coffee, spoke to another friend on the phone.  Went for a walk and then planted some plants and bulbs.  Had a cuppa and relaxed for awhile, ordered some clothes online.  Now for a quiet evening watching Strictly:)
Although I didn't walk far I took a lot of photos but wasn't happy with some!  Pleased to see some insects even if they were flies! I liked the way the light caught the leaf in extra.
