we are sailing

Here we are on the tall ship La Malouine at Palnackie. Samba Sisters were playing at 5.15 beside it - a spectacular backdrop by the River Urr, if a little muddy.

When all the drums were packed away, a few of us came aboard to see the ship close up - it sleeps 29 (+crew) below decks in snug bunk beds. A pipe band from Millport are staying tonight (they were down at the local pub at this time, having played earlier on the quayside). There was a deceptively spacious galley, and even a wee library on board. I was all ready to run away to sea, but S and D had a nice veg curry waiting for me at home.
