How I wake up…

Because even tho Max loves suspense (the first dog I can say that about), he only likes it when it’s coming his way. He likes when I waggle my fingers around right beyond his sight line and ask him if he’s getting nervous. He loves when I move my hand under the covers towards him, always turning his head and pretending he doesn’t see it getting closer because he wants to keep the game going. But this look after he has crept onto the bed to wake me up lasts only a second. He really tries, I can tell - but as soon as I look at him he just falls over.
