Day of two halves

Torrential, monsoon-like rain this morning. There was a river running down the road and the rain thundered against the windows.

This afternoon the sun came out... full on clear sky! We went for a little walk along the path by the stream (had to take a little detour by the horsey field as the path was flooded). The stream was running very fast and full, as you can see.

This evening we put the pumpkin out on the doorstep for an hour and had lots of visiting witches, ghosts and ghouls. L got very excited every time the door knocked! We ran out of sweets and brought the pumpkin in which stopped the callers. Great that the parents of the children recognised which houses were participating and respected which were not.
