Happy Halloween!

Children appear to be out in force ‘trick or treating’ this evening. Whereas you used to get them coming to your door in twos and threes, now they come in groups of eight! And - call me old fashioned - I used to expect a song or a poem, then I lowered my expectations to a joke. Tonight I was just happy to give them their bags of sweets quickly without anything in return.
Am I getting soft in my old age or was it a bit Covid fear? Probably a bit of both.
