Bannockburn Gold Sluicings

Only eleven of us in the walking group today.  We drove to Bannockburn and walked up through the historic gold sluicings to the old settlement of Stewart Town.  Not much left of it now.  One restored tiny cottage and an orchard.  The wild thyme was magnificent - I believe the best we have ever seen it - second extra, the first - along the track up.
