Belated Samhain greetings!

Last night the pumpkin was glowing on the sill, above rose hips from the 'yard.

It's the smallest pumpkin I have ever carved, though you can't tell that from the photo - scarcely larger that the unusual substitute a couple of years ago, when pumpkins were in very short supply. It was the best on offer, but I suspect that's because all the large ones were snapped up by people who are displaying lots of them. Seems that Halloween has to be super-duper over-the-top magnificent this year for the children who were deprived of trick-and-treating last year!
