SUGAR BUSHES

I know it's mono Monday.... but it would be a travesty to post this in mono. These are Sugar Maples (Acer saccharum), Wisconsin's State Tree. A.K.A. Sugar Bushes as sap from these trees is boiled down to make maple syrup for you to enjoy with your blueberry pancakes.

As previously mentioned, the beautiful reds and orange colors of these trees in autumn is both pigment and sugar enhanced. Because of all the sugars in these leaves, they produce the most vibrant colors on the fall spectrum.

There's a reason they don't make Aspen Sugar......there's not enough sugar there to warrant boiling down to extract syrup. One would probably drain the tree dry getting enough sugar to smother one pancake. But maples are sugar rich.

Best in Large.
