Fruits of the Spindle Tree

I was so excited to see this tree on my walk as I had never seen one before. When I looked it up I was surprised to see that it was a native tree and its name refers to the fact that the wood was used to make spindles for spinning wool. The orange skins of the seeds were used in the past to make a dye. I picked up a few seeds from the ground and I will have a go at trying to germinate one.
