Autumn leaves
It was such a contrast in weather today compared to yesterday, gloriously sunny with blue skies. I usually walk on Esher Common and the council are currently carrying out woodland management work there, thinning trees and removing invasive species from the woodlands. They are also putting in pathways instead of the natural tracks we had before, possibly to make access easier for prams and wheelchairs. I did prefer it more natural looking without those tracks but I can see that these improvements will allow easier access for some people. Anyway they are in the middle of the job and my usual path is all dug up so today I got a bit confused and had to divert and then lost my sense of direction - but I soon worked out where I was and we ended up having a somewhat longer but good walk.
The autumn colours are looking good at the moment, the leaves are turning quickly now in some species, but of course the oaks are always the last to turn.
Tonight for camera club we have a talk (on zoom) so that should be interesting. In the new year we will go back to meeting in person, and I must say I rather like these zoom meetings when it is winter and you don't have to go out in the cold, and can relax at home with a mug of something hot instead.
