A Bird in a Tree
If the weather is kind, I really like this time of year. In sunshine (a rare commodity this autumn) the tree colours can be spectacular. As the leaves fall and the trees lose their foliage, new vistas open up. And everywhere wild animals are very active, busily feeding up as winter approaches.
The park has been alive with birds this weekend. There seem to be hundreds of redwings. They are very flighty, nervous of people, so difficult to photograph. At the moment they seem to be liking yew berries, of which there is an abundance here, We have a big yew behind Holly, and I was trying to photograph a redwing, but they stay shrouded in the thick foliage. This blue tit in an adjacent silver birch was more accommodating. It’s well camouflaged amongst the yellowing leaves,
