A wonderful day at RSPB Rainham Marshes today. More photos from today in Blipfolio.

I've decided to blip this Teal amongst all the rubbish which has washed up from the estuary just outside the RSPB protected area. There were many birds amongst the rubbish including Snipe and Rock Pipit. It reminds me of young children picking through the rubbish in Madagascar and Kenya. Humans produce so much waste and our oceans are full of plastic islands.

On a more positive note RSPB Rainham Marshes which used to belong to the military as a firing range is now a truly wonderful nature reserve and I thorough recommend a visit. After visiting the reserve we took a drive down the road in search of the Black Redstarts which have been hanging around. Didn't see them but did add another 4 birds to the day list.

Back home now after warming my very cold bottom on the heated car seats. Going to watch Quins v Gloucester and wait for my Chicken Tikka Madras to arrive!
