Woke

Largely worked from home today, expecting the plumber to sort out my troublesome loo. Of course he didn’t come though, or at least he couldn’t get here before I’d told him I had to go out late afternoon to an Advisory Board meeting. That went smoothly although managing the hybrid nature and ensuring everyone felt included was tricky, and the agenda was less than helpful.
We then went to see a one woman show, ‘Woke’ written a few years ago by a current Fellow at the Institute. Very powerful and brilliantly performed. Afterwards we mingled for a while with the various guests at a reception then headed back for dinner with those Board members who could be here in person. Lots of chat arising from the play and stories of oppression from around the world, but also ranged widely across other topics of long distance walking, St Trinians, lockdown communities and international flows of students. Nice evening…then home for a chat to A before bed
