Learning day by day

Some sort of normality has been gained

Busy day. Dropped Will at Nazeing to finish his Seamanship course. Came home and made his birthday cake.

Carys and I headed into London to finally watch Dante at the Royal Opera House. It was supposed to have it's premier 18+months ago but obviously Covid got in the way. We were then supposed to attend opening night, again Carys having a positive covid test got in the way! So needless to say Carys was extremely excited, even more so when she was told that Gary would meet her in Floral Street after the show. (Sadly we aren't allowed in the stage door yet, not with cases so high).

The show was stunning, will definitely booking when it is reprised. However star of the show, Ed Watson was in his last role as a Principal at the Royal Ballet, so it won't be quite the same again. Gary was cast as Virgil and it was really lovely to see him dance properly and duet with Ed.

After we were greeted with big hugs and a lot of chat. He basically caught up with all Carys's news from the last six months since he watched her dance at Performance Platform, via zoom. He was also taken aback by how much she has grown in 18 months and gave her a big confidence boost telling her she was in amazing hands physiowise when she gets out of the boot.

We had just said goodbye to Gary when Ed came out of the stage door. He headed off away from us and I was sent to chase after him while she caught up on crutches. He was so lovely. Said he knew how she felt having been there and that she hopefully has got her injuries out of the way young so should be fine going forward. Told her to rest and do as the physio tells her and she'll be fine. Then he whipped off his mask for a photo. Two legends of the Royal Ballet in one night makes for a very happy Carys.
