The star of the day

I woke to glorious sunshine.. but it was cold, we had the first frost overnight.  I popped out to see if the dahlia had been blackened but to my delight they had not.  I decided to pick the ones that were open to bring in and was delighted to find this beauty looking thin and spindly and planted in the wrong place.  I will lift it I think and move it for next year in the hope it provides a few more of these wonderful flowers.
In the extra I have put a photo of the king and queen of cruet sets which caught my eye this morning.
