Simon demonstrates 'chilling out' - a state I spectacularly failed to achieve today. Considering I spent all of it at home, it was an (unnecessarily) stressful day made worse by knowing that it was mostly self induced. Herewith be my story, feel free to fast forward and go directly to 'short version'.
Long version: I decided yesterday to go back to Istanbul for a few days,  more anon. This morning, once my online tutoring was done, I went on line to book my flight using my 'air miles' (Turkish Airlines).  Unfortunately, I couldn't remember my password to log in and then realized that the email linked to said account is no longer valid being my old school email and of course I retired in June 2020. Thus began the temper rousing cycle of 'please enter your email address to verify' followed by 'your email address is not recognized'. Several tantrums later I hit upon the idea of contacting Turkish Airlines customer services via their Facebook page and eventually (several hours passed) thanks to whoever was manning the FB messenger app,  I was finally able to change my password and log in to my account to book my flight using my air miles by which time my stomach was in a turmoil of frustration.  Moral of the tale - always store your passwords somewhere safe and accessible, and update your personal info when major changes, eg retirement, occur in your life.  However, having finally secured my flight, the rest of my afternoon and evening was spent contacting friends who I'll see and making plans for the week in my adopted hometown. Thanks Caitlin for arranging my accommodation on school campus again - home from home.
Short version: it all worked out in the end.

Meanwhile, Harry, Simon and Nelson spent most of the afternoon  demonstrating 'chill' in various feline poses none of which I could emulate, even if I wanted to.

Not sorry to call it a day on this one. Tomorrow there'll be another one.
