Windfall apples

A good friend of mine has an established apple tree that produces the most delicious fruit - big apples with white flesh, thin skin, good both as dessert and cooking apples.

After a day of high winds, I asked if I could pop by his plot to take a few windfalls and he said I was welcome to.

I had to stop in my track to admire the beauty of this allotment autumn scene.
