Beautifully preserved 18th century houses overlooking the old harbour at Portsoy an area associated with smuggling and which featured in the recent remake of 'Whisky Galore'. The nearest house has particularly attractive details such as the crowstepping on the gables and long and short work round the pend door which are emphasised by contrasting paint.
