This probably isn't fair, but I'll demystify it in due course... I don't think that this'll make a very good guessing game, especially given that the subject is hard to name even when known/identified, and even more so given that it is one of a kind (although it is one of a larger set of similar objects).
This and its 13 siblings arrived from USA on Friday, and I collected them from home on Sunday. I'll blip them en masse (and in their more functional configuration) soon, but I'm afraid that I'm leaving you hanging in the meantime.
