Penwith Moors
This morning our walk started from Chy Morvah, the HF house in St Ives, where we are staying, and took us out on to the Penwith Moors.
The main photo is of 13th century Towednack church with Rosewall Hill rising behind. We stopped to look at the church and to have an early lunch break before ascending the hill. By then, it had started to rain and we got a bit wet and muddy. The extra shows the view from Rosewall Hill looking towards to St Ives, before we descended over Trevalgan Hill and thence to St Ives via field paths (Tinners Way). The whole area is dotted with old mine shafts and ventilation chimneys from the days when tin, copper, and more recently uranium, were mined here.
